Beauty Mountain Elopement Photos | Fayetteville, WV Photographer | Jamie & Troy
The Elopement
I first met Jamie & Troy over a video chat back in early September. We discussed how they envisioned their wedding day and how due to COVID-19 they felt that the most important thing was to marry each other in a place that they both love. As rock climbers, Jamie & Troy fell in love with the New River Gorge. After some consideration, they decided that Beauty Mountain was the perfect location for their intimate elopement ceremony.
On 10/24/2020 we met at the Ram’s Head Trailhead and began walking to the overlook with their 16 adventurous wedding guests. A short 15 minutes later we arrived at the overlook. Typically, there is an amazing view of the gorge but on 10/24 (a very misty & foggy day) the gorge was filled with fog made it seem like we were in a cloud and on top of the world! Jamie & Troy didn’t mind one bit! After all, when was the gorge ever gonna look like that again? Jamie changed into her dress while I set Troy up for their first look against the cloudy backdrop. Once Jamie was ready, she tapped Troy on the shoulder and Troy’s reaction was golden. They had a little moment, just the two of them and then we began the ceremony. Troy’s sister officiated the ceremony and did an amazing job! There were many laughs and smiles between the bride & groom and their guests. Finally, these two exchanged rings and their vows and got married!! Next came family formals with their family and friends. After some traditional and silly photos with their family & friends, I snagged the bride & groom for their beautiful portraits amongst the foggy overlook. After that we hiked back to our cars and headed our separate ways, but I know that these newly-weds celebrated all night long with their family & friends.
