Adventures on the Gorge Wedding Photos | Lansing, WV Photographer | Megann & Frank
Megann & Frank’s wedding day began with these two getting ready at different houses on the AOTG property. Megann got ready at the Ames House while Frank got ready in the house just next door. After getting ready, Megann & Frank decided to do a first look. Frank had the sweetest reaction to seeing his lovely bride. Following the first look we got some bride & groom portraits and wedding party portraits done before the ceremony. This ended up working out perfectly because it was one of the rare moments during the day when it wasn’t raining! The overlook also was looking fantastic with the fog going through the gorge. Next came the ceremony where a very quick ceremony came and before I knew it, these two were married and walking back up the aisle! We took some family formals following the ceremony and everyone got to enjoy cocktail hour! That’s what’s so great about first looks, you get the majority of portraits done before the ceremony so that you can relax and actually enjoy your wedding festivities! The reception began after the cocktail hour where the newlyweds entered and had their first dance. I snagged these guys before dinner to get some sunset photos which did not disappoint with Adventures on the Gorge’s great overlooks. Following dinner came the parents dances and the cake cutting. There was actually no dancing until later in the night where Megann & Frank threw a New Years Eve Party from 9pm until midnight. It was a great night for a New Years Eve Wedding.
Adventures on the Gorge Wedding Photos | Lansing, WV Wedding Photographer | Leah & Robert
Leah & Robert’s wedding day began with Leah and her bridesmaids getting ready at her venue, Adventures on the Gorge. This lovely venue provided a ready room right on site where her beauty vendors met her to set up. AOTG also provided some delicious snacks for these ladies including a charcuterie board and chicken and waffles! While the girls were getting ready, the guys were too just right next door. Robert got ready with his guys and of course, his loyal dog, Lily, After Robert got ready, we grabbed some photos of him and groomsmen all dressed up. I headed back over to the bridal area where Leah was just finalizing her finishing touches. Once finished, we grabbed some bridal party photos and then prepared for the ceremony. The ceremony was held on the wedding deck outside of AOTG’s Smokey’s on the Gorge Restaurant. Everything was set up so beautifully. Robert got to see Leah walk down the aisle for the first time and he had the sweetest reaction. Leah & Robert exchanged their own written vows to each other and before we knew it, they were married! We grabbed lots of family formal photos after the ceremony and got some more wedding party photos as well. Lastly, we headed to AOTG’s bridge view overlook for some bride & groom portraits and it truly did not disappoint. Next came the reception where Leah & Robert celebrated with their family and friends all night and ended the evening with a sparkler exit.
American Alpine Club Campground Wedding Photos | Fayetteville, WV Photographer | Tricia & Greg
This wedding day began with Trish and Greg getting ready in different locations in the wild and wonderful town of Fayetteville, West Virginia. After getting ready, we headed to the American Alpine Club Campground for the ceremony. The officiant, Jeff, emerged from the wild in a ghillie suit and gave all the wedding guests a good laugh. Trish & Greg spoke their own vows and it was quite an emotional experience. After speaking their vows, they said, “I do!” and tied the knot. After the ceremony we grabbed some awesome portraits of these newlyweds. They even did a little bouldering session at the campground, which created some memorable photos. As we headed to the reception, we stopped at their “Honeymoon Suite” which was Greg’s car set up for some outdoor camping. How special is that?! Next came the reception where these two celebrated all night long!
At Home Elopement | Charleston, WV Photographer | Samantha & Scott
When I had first talked to Sam & Scott, they knew they wanted to get married but with all the uncertainty with COVID-19, they were unsure how to go about it. After talking about if they wanted to wait to have a bigger wedding or just get married now, these two decided to tie the knot sooner rather that later. Sam & Scott planned an at home elopement at their home in Charleston, West Virginia surrounded by their three close friends. They live streamed their wedding ceremony so that their family and friends from all over the United States and other countries could tune in and celebrate with them.
