Endless Wall Elopement Photos | Fayetteville, WV Photographer | Erin & Jerry
Erin & Jerry’s wild and wonderful elopement was one for the books. Originally, these two planned to hike the Endless Wall Trail and have their ceremony at the stunning overlook at Diamond Point. However, like any other wedding or elopement, sometimes things don’t go according to plan and it worked in our favor for this special day. Jerry’s grandmother hiked out with us and due to an accident earlier in December, she wasn’t up to hiking all the way to the overlook, so we made it halfway to the very beautiful Fern Creek. Since it had been in the 80s’s all week, the creek was dry so it ended up being the perfect location for Erin & Jerry’s ceremony!
Erin hiked in after Jerry so they didn’t see each other before the ceremony. It was such a sweet moment when Erin was escorted by her father across the trail and walked over the rocks to meet Jerry. An important piece of this union was the couple had their friends and family bring a meaningful picture of either the bride and groom and speak about the photo and then hung it on the tapestry that they made. Lots of happy tears were shed, it brought so much meaning to this elopement. Erin & Jerry exchanged loving vows and said “I do” in front of their close family and friends.
After the ceremony, we grabbed some family formal photos at the ceremony location and then Erin, Jerry, and I headed over to Diamond Point for some bride & groom portraits. The views were so stunning and the weather was amazing. After we grabbed some amazing portraits, we headed back to the trailhead, taking more photos along the way. Next came the reception at a very beautiful Airbnb right above the Wild Blue Adventure Company. Their “thrifted / homemade” wedding theme went well with their homemade and locally sourced food. Did I also mention that Erin’s dress was a thrifted 1920’s wedding dress? How cool is that! These two ended the night with cutting and eating the cake, made by Erin’s aunt. It was a yummy way to end the night! I could not be happier for this wonderful couple.
Endless Wall Engagement Photos | Fayetteville, WV Photographer | Abigale & Jack
Abigale & Jack drove all the way from Morgantown for their sunset engagement session in Fayetteville, WV. We started our hike at the Endless Wall Trailhead and took photos through the beautiful hemlock grove, Fern Creek, and finally made it to the iconic Diamond Point. We got to the overlook at the perfect moment, when the sun was golden and the light was perfect. I am so so so excited to shoot their wedding this June at Coopers Rock!
Endless Wall Engagement Photos | Fayetteville, WV Photographer | Emma & Matt
Matt and Emma were a joy to work with for their sunrise engagement session at the New River Gorge. I first talked with this couple around the end of 2020 and we connected instantly. I could tell from their laid back personalities and the love that they shared for each other, their engagement and wedding day was going to be epic. After much deliberation, we finally decided on a sunrise session at Endless Wall Trail in the New River Gorge National Park and Preserve. The week before their engagement session we all were watching the weather like crazy since rain was in the forecast for that Sunday morning. The day before, I checked the weather report again and it finally showed no rain for 7:00am on Sunday and I was ecstatic. I woke up at 5:30am to get ready for Emma & Matt’s session and my drive over to Endless Wall was very foggy so I was a little concerned it would be all fog at the overlook. We met up and began our hike in, taking photos along the way. Once we made it to the Diamond Point overlook, half of the scenery was a wall of fog but the other side was only New River Gorge views which worked out great! The foggy background made some magical photos and we still got that awesome gorge view too! I couldn’t have asked for a better morning engagement session with these two. I can’t wait to photograph their West Virginia wedding June 5th!
Endless Wall Engagement Photos | Fayetteville, WV Photographer | Tricia & Samson
Tricia & Samson were so much fun to work with and photograph for their evening engagement session at the gorgeous Endless Wall Trail. We had perfect warm weather and clear skies for their session, making hiking and posing such a breeze. We stopped along the trail, grabbing photos on our way to Diamond Point. An outfit change and a little more hiking, we make it to Diamond Point and to our surprise and luck, it was just us at the overlook! (Super strange for a Saturday evening with great weather!) We finished up at Diamond Point with stunning views and amazing photos for this couple’s engagement session. I absolutely cannot wait for their upcoming October wedding this year at the Confluence Resort!
