James Madison University Group Graduation Session | Harrisonburg, VA Photographer

Since COVID-19 happened, graduation itself has been a bit of a whirlwind for 2020 graduates. These JMU seniors did graduate this past May, however their actual graduation has been postponed till August 7-8. Graduation sessions usually take place in Late March and all of April, however because of the latest pandemic, most people have waited till it was safer to do so.

These four ladies were roommates while they studied at JMU and decided to their grad pics together. We decided to start their grad session at 7:30am for that cooler June weather and less people would be outside. We got some amazing shots of these awesome grads, celebrating the four years they put into college.

I had the opportunity to work with JMU grad, Anna and her friends to create some awesome memories for everyone involved. Here are the results:

Family Portrait Session

I had the opportunity to do a family portrait session with this wonderful family of five on the 6th of April on a warm spring day. We did the photo shoot at the historic Jennie Dean Park located in Manassas, Virginia, surrounded by short stone walls, echoing the buildings that once stood there. We first started off with family shots, then group shots of the the kids, then couple shots, and of course some cute pics with the parents and their little one! Everyone was a joy to work with and the results were awesome! Here’s the results:

Portrait Session

I recently did a photo shoot with my beautiful roommate, Jolie. Since the flowers are finally blooming in Harrisonburg, we decided to take advantage of the warm weather and beautiful scenery. I’ve got a lot of questions of where this photo shoot was taken at, for example: “Where you on the quad?” or “Where you at the arboretum?” But the real answer is this: I was driving along the side of the road where I noticed all these trees in bloom with wonderful white flowers, I knew that would be a perfect scene. So Jolie and I drove over to this lot that is literally on the side of Reservoir St. The simplest places are usually the best places to shoot at! Take a risk, find a spot that speaks to you! Here are the amazing photos from our portrait session:
