Claire & Mason traveled all the way from Florida with their beautiful newborn son to visit family in Charleston, West Virginia for a few weeks at which time we decided was perfect to also do their engagement photos! Originally we had planned their session for earlier in the week but due to a 100% chance of rain, we thought it best to reschedule. Thankfully we were able to do that within the time they were still visiting and the weather for our new session was incredible! We started our session on Capitol St. where downtown Charleston is always buzzing. The architecture and streets created a beautiful backdrop for these photos. We headed toward the bridge by the carriage trail for wonderful views of the city and the waterfront. Overall we could not have asked for a more prefect session.

The New River Gorge National Park is now the newest National Park in the United States. It was first established as a National River in 1978 but since has upgraded its status to National Park in 2020. I live right in the heart of this beautiful place and it’s my absolute favorite thing to photograph weddings, elopements, and engagements in this area. The New River Gorge has become of the most visited places in the United States and a huge destination location for couples. Hayley & Jason’s wedding day was both modern and elegant, and an overall dream. These two got ready in separate rooms on the second floor of the Hale Street Center. After getting ready, I took each of the wedding parties (one at a time) outside to get their portraits done, without the groom seeing the bride. Next came the ceremony where Hayley and Jason exchanged vows and rings and tied the knot! Next came family formals, wedding party photos, and lastly some newlywed portraits both inside the venue and on the streets of Charleston. We grabbed some amazing photos and headed to the reception where dinner and toasts happened on the first floor and the party continued upstairs on the third floor! This couple danced the night away surrounded by their amazing family and friends. Congrats to Hayley & Jason!

October 9, 2021 was a beautiful Saturday with overcast skies, but no rain! The Canaan Valley was so beautiful with some stunning fall foliage, setting the perfect scene for this amazing couple’s special day. Becca & Zach’s wedding day began with these two getting ready in separate cabins at the Black Bear Resort. After getting ready, we headed to the ceremony location at the Cannan Valley Resort State Park. The ceremony was so incredible, with a wonderful location and beautiful vows. After the ceremony we grabbed wedding party photos, family formals, and some bride & groom portraits and then headed back to Black Bear Resort for the reception! What a great venue! The scenery from the back deck is simply gorgeous. Heaters were set up outside making this chilly day a little warmer. At the reception, wonderful speeches were given, a garter was tossed as well as a bouquet. It was a celebration for the books. Congrats to Becca & Zach!
